IMS Manager
Location: : Abu Dhabi - Overseas
Rate: £ 70 to £ 100 K (permanent) + TAX FREE + MEDICAL, FLIGHTS & GRATUITY
An opportunity has arisen to join one of the regions leading building and infrastructure business services companies on a highly prestigious project in Abu Dhabi.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To support the Project Manager in the delivery of project IMS objectives by:
- Overseeing the management of health, safety, quality and sustainability systems
- Assisting in the production of project documentation such as the Project Management Plan
- Overseeing local initiative to improve health, safety, quality and sustainability performance
KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB
Ensuring effective implementation of the IMS system and policies pertaining to the projects for which they are responsible
- Advising project management on the state of health and safety and environmental issues within the business and of any concerns identified locally and promoting good practice relating to health and safety management
- Agreeing with the Project Manager an action list - identifying key stages in the procurement and construction process that will require the Safety Advisor’s input/attendance
- Assisting in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and non-conformances and making recommendations for corrective action
- Developing and implementing local and plc wide initiatives designed to improve occupational health and safety, quality and sustainability performance and bring about cultural change
- Encouraging and monitoring the setting and development of project based objectives and targets. These targets are to be project specific whilst being aligned with, and supporting, the business objectives and strategy
- Assisting in the review and agreement process of method statements where there is a significant risk to safety and environmental
- Undertaking compliance audits of the IMS system, with the assistance of trained staff
- Delivering Training and Awareness programmes for staff
- Liaising regularly with the IMS Team
- Liaising with statutory bodies as appropriate
KNOWLEDGE AND APPLIED SKILLS
- Possesses deep knowledge of one complex functional or business area
- Significant track record of success in managing a business contract, Business Unit or region and/or providing support to a professional function
- Aware of the trends in the market-place and seeks to deepen knowledge of industry issues and drivers
- Likely to have in excess of 5 years managerial and/or technical experience. Member of a Professional Body progressing to Chartered Status plus a minimum Intermediate Level qualification.
