ASSOCIATE MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Location: : Cardiff - Wales
Rate: £ 55 to £ 60 K (permanent) + PLUS PACKAGE
I am working on behalf of one of the countries leading M and E consultancies, who currently have a number of strategically placed offices across the UK.
They are looking to recruit a Principal/Associate level Mechanical Building Services engineer to help set up their new office in Cardiff.
You will basically be second in command, working closely with the Regional Partner as their right hand man.
You will ideally be a chartered engineer (mechanical) or working towards chartered having spent the bulk of your career in the built environment sector. You will have developed a strong focus upon design quality and delivery and an ability to communicate articulately to clients and fellow professional (architects, engineers etc) alike.
You will take a particular interest in low carbon sustainable design solutions and be willing to proactively drive up and contribute to project team meetings/workshops to satisfy both client and architects expectations across a range of situations. You will ensure you are fully up to speed with new legislation (e.g. Part L (2010) / zero-carbon / Breeam ) and you will want to be part of a business that truly believes it achieves excellence in what it does and therefore a desire to be the best in the market.
You will be driven by the rare opportunity to be “in at the start” and play a key role in an exciting new venture in the South Wales marketplace. You will enjoy the full support of like minded people providing high quality MandE Consultancy since the 1950’s. You will be working with a business with high customer focus and relationships along with a genuine desire and passion to make a difference. The quality of the organisation is demonstrated where repeat business is around 80% of its turnover year-on-year, also testimony to its friendly but professional style of working and customer focus.
You will be a team-player but able to demonstrate leadership skills through leading by example and having the vision toward success through the development of a strong team ethic. You will have the ability to recruit appropriately like minded individuals consistent with their style and approach recognising success often follows.
You will be “hands on” but able to articulate your ideas at all levels from communication with less experienced staff to presenting to, for example, client’s board directors from conceptual stage to post-handover reviews.
You will already have led a team of mechanical engineers or ready for that next step and have a proven track record of project delivery whilst achieving profitable outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent remuneration and the chance to develop a new office and be part of its on going success. This would suit an ambitious individual looking to work their way to the very top.
